Using Scripts to Automate Workflow in FontAgent Pro
FontAgent Pro for Mac OS X offers AppleScript compatibility as a powerful and customizable tool for organizing your fonts and speeding up your workflow. It has a full featured dictionary that allows you to do most anything you can do manually in FontAgent Pro. Viewing Available Scripts To view the FontAgent Pro AppleScript Dictionary: 1 Launch Script Editor (/Applications/AppleScript/ScriptEditor) 2 Select File>Open Dictionary and select FontAgent Pro in the Open Dictionary window. You will find the correct terms to use to command FontAgent Pro with AppleScript in this location. Sample Scripts FontAgent Pro ships with several useful script that you can use to organize your fonts by foundry or by name, or run some common operations such as generating WYSIWYG images or verifying your fonts. You can open these scripts in Script Editor to see some examples of how scripts can be written for FontAgent Pro. To make your scripts accessible through the FontAgent Pro script menu, place them in the /Library /Application Support/FontAgent Pro/Scripts folder. When you place your scripts in that location, they will be included underneath the script icon in the menu bar. Just select the script you wish to run and the script will be launched. Many scripts that you can use in FontAgent Pro can take up to several minutes to run, depending on what type of script it is and how many fonts you have in your collection. The script icon will blink red intermittently to let you know a script is running. |
