Should I create one font library or multiple libraries? |
FontAgent Pro allows you to create and open multiple font libraries, a unique and powerful capability. Each FontAgent Pro library
is a separate, physical collection of font files.
When You Should Use Multiple Libraries? Using multiple libraries allows you to keep fonts from different projects or clients separate from each other. When you are performing work for a specific client or project, activate only fonts from the appropriate library and you can be sure you are using the correct fonts. Using multiple libraries can help you ensure that you use exactly the right fonts when: • You receive fonts from outside sources and wish to separate your client’s fonts from your own • You wish to use specific fonts for certain projects and delete them from your machine when the project is finished • You are working with tweaked versions of fonts that differ slightly from their original versions, but still have the same font name • You are exporting a project library for sending to a print service bureau to ensure they are using the correct fonts for your documents. Although FontAgent Pro prevents you from duplicating fonts in a single library, you can store the same or similar fonts with the same name in separate libraries. When You Should Use Just One Library You should probably use only one font library if: • You work primarily with your own fonts and do not receive fonts from outside sources • You don’t have multiple versions of the same font[Bob Leeds] (extra space should be removed) When you use have one large font library, you can use sets to define logical groups that organize your fonts into projects or categories. If you think of a FontAgent Pro library as your iTunes music library, a set is just like a playlist. If you remove a song from your iTunes library, it will no longer be in any of your playlists. If you just remove it from a playlist or delete the entire playlist, the song can still be used in other playlists. |
