Helvetica Neue does not behave the same in InDesign running on Snow Leopard as it does on Leopard. What's up?

Users who have upgraded to Snow Leopard are going to see different behavior in InDesign when using the font Helvetica Neue.

Snow Leopard ships with a .ttc version of Helvetica Neue.

In the past Adobe InDesign offered a unique solution to this issue. Because the system fonts were dfonts, InDesign was set up in such a way that if you activated a PostScript font that conflicted with a System dfont , it would show the PostScript font and its activated styles in its font menu, and not reveal the styles offered by the dfont.

Leopard shipped with Helvetica Neue as a .dfont. Now InDesign sees the .ttc font, and because that was present it no longer displays the expected styles of the Postscript version of the font.
